Q: What do I need to do to begin to get a SECOR?
A: You will need to take a "Safety Program Development" course through one of the certifying partners.
Q: Do I have to have a safety manual if there is only me as an employee?
A: If you require a SECOR for your clients then it is mandatory to have a safety program/manual in place. Of course, it is always recommended for your safety and the safety of others!
Q: If I work for another company as a sub-contractor do I have to have my own SECOR?
A: This will be up to the company you are currently working for as a sub-contractor.
Q: As an owner/operator, do I need to give myself an orientation on my own safety program?
A: Yes.
Q: How many employees qualifies my company to acquire a SECOR?
A: A SECOR (Small Employer Certificate of Recognition) consists of 1-10 employees. If your company employes more than 10 then a COR is required.
