Q: What do I need to do to begin to get a SECOR or COR?
A: You will need to take a "Safety Program Development" course through one of the certifying partners. J.G. Safety Consulting Ltd. can guide you on which course is mandatory toward your secor/cor compliance.
Q: How many employees qualifies my company to acquire a SECOR?
A: SECOR (Small Employer Certificate of Recognition) consists of 1-10 employees. If your company employees more than 10, then a COR is required.
Q: Do I have to have a safety manual if there is only me as an employee?
A: If you require a SECOR for your clients then it is mandatory to have an occupational health and safety management system in place. Of course, it is always recommended for you and your workers safety and the safety of others!
Q: If I work for another company as a sub-contractor do I have to have my own SECOR?
A: This will be up to the company you are currently working for as a sub-contractor.
Q: As an owner/operator, do I need to give myself an orientation on my own safety program?
A: Yes.
Q: If I employ 8 workers do I need a health and safety committee? (HSC)
A: You do not, legislation states 1-19 employees require a health and safety representative, 20 plus employees warrants an HSC.
Q: Do commercial truck drivers require specific training?
